Onsite:
This position is open to applicants or individuals who are located in or around Dallas,Tx and able to work onsite in Dallas,Tx.

The Role:

As an Industrial Engineer, you will lead continuous improvement initiatives, process optimization, and cost-saving strategies across the Cart.com fulfillment network. You’ll be responsible for end-to-end project execution—from strategy and analysis to implementation and post-launch evaluation. This role blends engineering, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration to drive operational excellence and scalable growth.

What You’ll Do:

  • Evaluate and improve operational costs surrounding staffing, units per hour (UPH) or cost per unit (CPU), and cost per unit Re-engineering & design of process flows, layouts, workstations, etc.

  • Work performance evaluation and time studies to assist with process creation and labor standards

  • Statistical analysis and reporting on partner profitability and overall contribution

  • General methods and procedure improvement analysis with high emphasis on Lean Production continuous improvement initiatives

  • Assist with operational and financial forecasting, staffing, productivities, capital expenditures, Capex justifications, improvement analyses, etc.

  • Analyze data from potential new fulfillment partners to create costing estimates used to structure new partner agreements

  • Perform detailed studies on launched new partners to compare accuracy to models Assist with the launching of new partners.

  • Determine the optimum set up within both the WMS and processes on the floor Fulfillment center space planning

  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned Assist with recruiting, training, and ongoing development of Engineering interns.

Who You Are:

  • You have the ability to write, troubleshoot, and optimize SQL statements and stored procedures against production databases

  • You have the ability to script software solutions in Python, PHP, Node, .Net, or other commonly utilized programming languages

  • You have familiarity with monitoring and managing cloud-based services, assessing system resources including memory, CPU utilization, I/O latency, and disk/storage capacity utlizaiton

  • You have the ability to rapidly learn and troubleshoot third-party infrastructure software

  • You have working knowledge of network protocols and server-to-server communication techniques to transmit and synchronize processes and data across distinct software platforms.

  • You have the ability to collaborate cross-functionally with software engineering, facilities operation, sales, client services, and finance

What You’ve Done:

  • 5 + years of experience in industrial engineering, logistics, or process improvement.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt quickly in dynamic environments.

  • Proficient in SQL and scripting languages such as Python, PHP, Node, or .Net.

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Word, and Outlook.

  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, or other continuous improvement methodologies.

  • Familiarity with WMS/WCS systems and warehouse automation technologies.

  • Understanding of cloud-based infrastructure, system resource monitoring, and server-to-server communication protocols.

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, and client-facing teams.

  • Experience mentoring or coaching interns or co-op students is a plus.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
