The Role:
Cart.com is hiring a Tax Manager to join our growing tax team. This role will play a pivotal part in ensuring Cart.com’s tax compliance, reporting, and audit readiness. Reporting to the Senior Director of Tax, the Tax Manager will oversee the implementation of tax processes, manage audits, and help the company navigate complex federal and state tax requirements while supporting future public filing preparations.
What You’ll Do:
Prepare and review tax provisions in accordance with ASC 740 and SEC reporting requirements.
Manage global and U.S. tax provisions for 10-Q and 10-K filings.
Analyze and consolidate the annual effective tax rate.
Implement and improve sales tax processes and procedures, including software implementation and revenue analysis.
Monitor U.S. and international tax regulations to ensure compliance.
Manage and review federal and state tax compliance.
Support and lead tax audits, including readiness and documentation for federal and state audits.
Assist with tax reporting and consolidation for future SEC filings.
Partner with the accounting team during the rollout of new software systems and preparation of MOR reporting.
Provide guidance on complex tax issues such as Sec 174, R&D credits, Sec 163J, FIN18, and APB23.
Who You Are:
You are detail-oriented and proactive, with a strong ability to navigate complex tax landscapes and regulations. You excel in problem-solving and can balance day-to-day tasks with strategic planning.
What You’ve Done:
10+ years of experience in tax provision, ASC 740, and SEC reporting.
Extensive experience with tax compliance and audits.
Proven track record of managing tax processes for companies with over $1 billion in revenue.
Hands-on expertise in sales tax filings and multi-state tax compliance.
Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with tax and accounting software systems.
Nice to Haves:
Experience with public company tax reporting and consolidation.
Knowledge of global tax regulations and processes.
Background in process improvement and automation within tax departments
