Project Overview

We’re seeking an independent contractor Senior Social & Community Manager to help with growing Blumira’s social presence and technical community initiatives. This role is ideal for someone with deep experience engaging IT and security audiences, who can both design strategy and execute programs that drive measurable results.

Project Scope and Deliverables

Community & Engagement

  • Launch and manage Blumira’s IT Roundtables program, bringing together clusters of IT/security professionals across industries and company sizes.
  • Facilitate bi-monthly 60-minute virtual sessions, ensuring engaging discussion and knowledge exchange among participants.
  • Develop recruitment strategies to build roundtable clusters, leveraging outreach campaigns, partners, and social promotion.
  • Implement recognition programs to reward participation.

Social Media & Content

  • Develop and own a comprehensive social media strategy to attract, grow, and engage IT/security audiences across social channels. Amplify marketing team campaigns within those audiences
  • Plan, create, and schedule content. Own the calendar.
  • Actively monitor and engage in IT/security conversations across social channels, forums, blogs, chaat groups, etc.
  • Regularly report results back to the Marketing team and executive leadership

Required Key Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional experience in social media management, community management, or security/IT relations roles.
  • Strong track record of creating and executing social media strategies that drive significant audience growth and engagement.
  • Familiarity with IT/security industry trends, communities, and preferred channels is a plus
